I went to vote on our local sales tax issue - I couldn't believe that I was just #136. Granted there was an hour and 15 minutes left, but still - how many voted in that amount of time? This is an important issue - 2, 1 penny sales taxes. This is our councils way of raising funds? Very anti-business. A .02 increase would hurt the few local businesses that we do have. I would hazard to guess that Ballards is the largest local contributor of sales tax monies to our city. By raising the sales tax .02, many people would drive somewhere else - I mean just how far is it to Mannford, Drumright, or Cushing? Two whole pennies isn't much - until you figure that a family of 4 is spending about $150 or more on groceries a week. That is $3 in taxes, or $156 a year. What could I do with $150? I can guarantee I can spend it better that the local city council or school board. I am all for funding education - but didn't we just vote a lottery into place to help them out? Have they even seen those funds before they come begging for more. I know I am opening myself up to lots of ridicule and hate mail here, but let's face it - I know how to spend my own money better than the city council. Even if I squander it on lottery tickets - it is my money isn't it? They haven't paved a road here in years. They can't operate a gas company very well - at least they can't tell us how much our gas is supposed to be. They instead put cameras in city hall so you will feel intimidated when you walk in to complain. Maybe if no more of us vote than what was seen today - we deserve what we get.

I'd like to add that governments, whether local, county, state or federal, all depend on revenue from taxes to operate and provide services, so taxes are a necessary evil. Local government funding, for us, is likely provided by sales tax and utility sales, with education being funded mainly with state funds.
From what I've heard, higher education will receive most of the money from lottery ticket sales with schools like Oilton not seeing much of it.
I believe in supporting our school and community, but I don't like paying taxes either. I think it comes down to whether citizens want government services, improved roads, etc. or lower taxes. A happy medium has to be established as we just can't continualy increase taxes or we'll tax ourselves into oblivion. I too wish more had voted but from the election results, the people have spoken. The penny school tax passed while the city tax didn't.

I agree that taxes are a necessary evil. My complaint is that government (local, county, state, & federal) all seem to think that the solution to any problem is more taxes. Before they ask for more money - they need to clean up their spending problems. I think that the first duty they have to any citizen is to spend money wisely, and I see waste on every level. There are too many expenditures for frivolous and unnecessary items. For instance - why did our city put cameras in city hall? I just can't see the need. Has there ever - and I mean ever had an assault on a city hall employee? Yes there has been some whining, complaining, and yelling. When you run for city office, or take a job in city hall - you expect that. Why do we contract out all of the mowing in the park and cemetery? Why do we (or at least did - I am not sure if we still do) contract out our meter reading? That seems like a waste of funds to me. Maybe I am not seeing the big picture, but I do see $$$ going out the door. The citizens have spoken - and we have .01 going to our schools. That is something I have to live with, but since I voted, I feel like I have the right to complain. The next time somebody is complaining about their gas bill - we should all ask if they voted in the last election

I own a business, now two businesses in Oilton and yet I do not live here so I can not vote in city elections. Had I been able to vote I would have voted like many others and voted against the city sales tax increase. My reasoning like many would have been because the city has not proven to me that they appropriately handle the money they alrady have. much less more. Also I covered the meetings leading up to the election for the the Gusher. The city council members said they needed to become good salesmen and let the people know what they needed the money for. Where were the signs and posters they talked about putting up? As a reporter I called the city on several occasions and was met with very unfriendly response. I emailed the city clerk repeatedly and never got an answer. I think the people voted the proposition down for one simple reason, they have lost faith in the managemnet of this city. Usually I would say go to the meetings and see for yourself how things are done. But in this case it might only make your opinion of the city council worse. The city council and the mayor seem to think if you ignore a problem it will go away. Thats how they seem to handle the gas issue and it is certainly how they try to deal with the press. If karen is gone everytime I call and am told she is gone I wonder where I can sign up for a job like that. I guess it will be harder to ignore the press now that I am right here in town every day.

I have 10 Arc/ 0 Fire/ 41 wow power leveling Frost spec,

but Ice block and Cold Snap are most important for this little run.
Go to wow power leveling Scarlet Monastery

Cathedral. Run all the way to main Boss Chamber. Will be easy to dodge aggro as you are level 60.

Kill pats if you can't get around. With a little practice you can get there with

wow power leveling only 1-2 fights

tops.
Once inside you need to move down wow power leveling right or left

side and dodge pats so that you are standing close to Mograine without aggroing him. Now the fun

begins. But first...
Make aion power level sure you have all you

spell cooldowns up so you can use everything at your disposal. Make a Mana Ruby for

aion powerleveling backup mana. You can use

potions but these cost money and counter your profit. Your decision.
Ok, now that you are buy wow gold ready you can

start the fight. Put up Ice Barrier and pop Mograine with a frostbolt and he will rush you and

aggro the whole cathedral to come kill you. Take hits from Mograine until your barrier

aion kinah is removed. You will see the other

mobs rushing you from all directions. When Barrier is gone pop Ice Block. This is the focal point

of this run.
Ice aion power level Block gives you

10 full seconds for all the mobs to gather around you without damaging you. Now they are all nice

wow gold uk and packed for some Area of Effect(AoE)

blasting!
